History

IMS: Provider of Removals and Relocation Services, since 1972.

Founded in 1972 in Frankfurt, Germany by entrepreneur Bernhard Schaaf, IMS has prospered from moderate beginnings as a moving company, to a world-renowned full-service provider of an extensive portfolio of global mobility services. To take best care of the company's multinational corporate customers with activities in all major sectors of industry and commerce, branch offices in Hamburg, Dusseldorf, Bonn and Munich were already opened during the 70's of last century. Having gained an excellent reputation as a provider focussed on service quality and innovation in execution contributed to IMS' role of co-founder or driver of growth, respectively, of international associations and organizations such as Move Plus, UTS, and Omni, in the 80's. Early on in the 90's, IMS' headquarters in the Rhine-Main area expanded to comprise of 12,000 sq meters of storage space for household goods and records management as a result, and provided an open space of 10,000 sq meters for holding containers and swip bodies. In the first decade of the new millennium, IMS became part of Christ Logistics Group, Heilbronn and Stuttgart, and has since continued its balanced growth with renewed drive and vigor.
